An attempt to grapple with figures on the Covid
How reliable are any of the figures we have been using?

The ONS revealed 6,235 deaths ‘involving’ Covid-19 in England and Wales from January 1 to April 3, compared to the total of 4,093 published by the Health Department. But we are still in a world of mystery as to how much Covid-19 was involved.

Might those deaths have occurred in people whose heart bypass or stent operations were cancelled?

"It crosses my mind that a serious policy, seriously pursued, would have seen the risk to care homes from a virus known to attack the old disproportionately.
Is this not what has become clear from Italy and Spain, where (unlike here) the older generation continue to live alongside and often in the same homes as the young?"
